As a New Jersey based photographer and fellow New Jerseyian, I like to find the best photoshoot locations to provide to my clients. Sometimes you want to do an outdoor photoshoot, but may not know where to go. That’s where I come in and provide some locations I know well and have shot at before. If you’re struggling to find a location in New Jersey check out the list below.
1. Princeton University (Princeton, NJ)
You don’t have to be a student or a graduate to have a photoshoot at Princeton University. The university is absolutely beautiful and can service many different types of sessions. From individual portraits to an engagement session, Princeton University’s campus can host just about anything.
2. Asbury Park Beach (Asbury Park, NJ)
Looking to do a beach photoshoot? Asbury Park Beach is the perfect choice. It has all the beach vibes you need. Giant stones that act as a pier into the ocean, a well-maintained beach, and colorful shore homes in the surrounding area. Personally, it’s also my favorite beach on the Jersey shore.
3. Deep Cut Gardens (Middletown, NJ)
A very lowkey garden spot offering 54 acres of gardens and greenhouses. It features over 50 varieties of roses, a gazebo and greenery as far as the eye can see. Upon entry into the garden you’ll see lily ponds as you make your way down some steps to the main garden.
4. Main Street Burlington (Burlington, NJ)
Want more of a historical downtown vibe? Main Street Burlington is great for that. Similar locations include Downtown Haddonfield and Downtown Somerville. Locations such as these are also an easy way to interact with your surroundings and incorporate props.
5. Camden Waterfront (Camden, NJ)
The Camden Waterfront is an excellent choice for a photoshoot in South Jersey. It offers views of the Delaware River, the Philadelphia skyline, the Benjamin Franklin Bridge, and many beautifully architectural buildings. The waterfront is also home to attractions such as the Adventure Aquarium, Battleship NJ, and BB&T Pavilion. This is for sure one of my favorite shoot locations because of the variety of angles it offers.
Here are some other locations that I haven’t had a session at, but know would make for a great photoshoot. If you’d like to have a photoshoot here just let me know!
